Alison Bird graduated from Harvard College and received a JD from Columbia Law School. Alison is a seasoned legal advisor who specializes in providing strategic legal counsel to cloud-based service providers. She helps her clients grow their companies while keeping an eye on the privacy and data security issues that weave through their business.As a former attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell, one of New York’s preeminent law firms, and a law clerk for the Hon. Burton R. Lifland, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York, Alison has developed great skill and expertise in corporate law matters.Alison has extensive experience counseling clients on general corporate matters as well as software and technology related transactions. Her experience as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) enables Alison to advise her corporate clients on matters relating to privacy and data security issues, especially as it relates to cloud-based SaaS Solutions.Alison has counseled small and large businesses at various phases of their development and as a result, she is able to help clients focus on their business while she handles their long and short-term legal issues.Alison is currently a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and served on the Women in the Profession Committee of the New York City Bar Association. She has been a member of the Grants Advisory Committee of the New York Women’s Foundation and has also worked as a mentor and tutor for various not for profit organizations in New York City including Student Sponsor Partners, Learning Leaders New York City School Volunteer Program, and the JCC Partnership for Literacy. Alison has served on the advisory board of The Allen-Stevenson School.Off hours, Alison serves as chief chauffeur, chef and general servant to her three school-aged boys. When they give her the day off, she enjoys standup paddle boarding, cycling, and tennis. Favorite destinations? Glacier National Park: Iceberg Lake, Zion National Park: Angels Landing.
